EPI North Texas Chapter Event: Taxes, When Selling It Is What You Net That Matters with Ron Salmon

Next Friday, November 10th, at 7:30 am Salmon Sims Thomas will host the monthly meeting for the North Texas Chapter of the Exit Planning Institute (EPI). SST’s own Ron Salmon will be presenting at the meeting and will discuss the basics of the tax aspects associated with selling a business. Attendees will learn how to negotiate a win-win deal to ensure that the sell makes it to closing. Ron will present, with real case examples, the tax ramifications when selling a business.

Learning objectives include:

  • Why the business entity matters
  • Why buyers buy stock vs assets
  • How to allocate the sale price
  • How to report the allocation to the IRS
  • The art of negotiating a win-win
